Description

To close out our discussion on the U of A Virtual Book Club reading selection, The Skin We're In, by Desmond Cole, we are hosting a public webinar to dig into the experiences of black people in Canada. Join us in exploring the issues of racism in Canada through the context of the book and the personal experiences of our panelists.

We've gathered an excellent panel of U of A speakers, moderated by City of Edmonton Poet Laureate and U of A alumna, Nisha Patel.

Hear from:

  • Dr. Bukola Salami, Associate Professor in the Faculty of Nursing
  • Feisal Kirumira, Augustana faculty member in the Modern Languages program and an advisor on the City of Edmonton Antiracism Advisory Council
  • Ọlájídé Salawu, PhD student in the Department of English and Film Studies

All are welcome to join! You do not need to be a Book Club member.
