Sandra McFadyen, '99 BSc(HEc), '03 MEd, '09 PGDip, is an active volunteer at UAlberta and within the Edmonton community. One of the roles Sandra does on campus is as a judge in both the Festival of Undergraduate Research and Creative Activities and the Engineering Senior Process Design Poster Sessions. Sandra finds this work fulfilling and says she is always amazed at the creativity, ingenuity and enthusiasm of the students for doing great things.

Sandra also spends a lot of time volunteering with the Campus Food Bank. She delivers weekly hampers to clients in Edmonton and volunteers at the annual Trick-or-trEAT food drive. Sandra has a lot of fun at this eventand loves seeing the costumes and meeting the student volunteers. Sandra also says, "the generosity of Edmontonians for donating thousands of pounds of food for the Campus Food Bank makes a heart feel good."

Sandra volunteers at several non-profits in Edmonton with causes that she cares about deeply. Sandra would recommend that everyone get involved in some way: "There's a lot of fun, but also a lot of need out there."
